Idly sambar started from a simple struggle, trying to find affordable homemade south indian food in auckland. We have tasted a few southern Indian restaurants that we thought, idly sambar could be a stand out and point of difference.
It has been a passion of ours to bring southern Indian tastes but nothing we had tasted gave us that feeling like we were home.
- After many tastings of what it could be like we decided to start our first venture in Kingsland which is centrally located and close to city centre.
- it is also a growing community willing to adventure on new tastes.
- We are 100% vegetarian and provide vegan options with many varieties to choose from, our own spices are made in-house with only fresh produce.
Our mission is to provide fresh quality and top service whilst bringing a bit of our home to our community.
